Also, if you can get ahold of GR+s they'll be lighter than your AC/20s, and if you get really lucky and find some GR++s they'll only take as many crit slots as them, too. You might need to pack more ammo, since you won't only be firing when they get right next to you but you should be able to rip out some heat sinks to do so. They're a ton heavier (base) and do only about three-quarters of the damage, but run a lot cooler and do that damage at a lot longer range. Even replacing all the DHS with SHS if you don't want JJs, since that would free up the DHS for other mechs that don't have as much spare tonnage as the Atlas II.Īlso if you feel like it, you could replace both AC/20s with Gauss Rifles.

That's enough for either a full JJ suite and some extra armour, or whatever else you feel like doing with eight tons freed up. You'll lose 5 damage per weapon and a little bit of range, but free up eight tons and two crit slots. If I can offer a suggestion? If you can get ahold of them, replace the LLs with ERML++s. Click to shrink. So that's what you did to your Atlas II, huh? Taking the standard Atlas' 'Bubble of Death' and almost doubling how much death the bubble has, as well as replacing the token long-range LRM20 that'll run out of ammo reasonably quickly with two medium-range LLs that can fire all day? Cool, I would not want to get in a cityfight with that thing! If I've guessed correctly on the amount of heat sinks, you should have a bit over nine short-range blasts with everything but the LLs, and as many dual-LL shots as you want beyond that.
